Marble Care: Keeping Your Luxury Stone Beautiful
Marble is the pinnacle of kitchen luxury, but it requires a different level of care than granite or quartz. Because marble is a soft, calciferous stone, it is prone to 'etching' from acids.
What is Etching?
Etching happens when acid (lemon juice, wine, vinegar) reacts with the calcium carbonate in marble, leaving a dull spot. It is not a stain, but a surface physical change.
Prevention is Key
Always use cutting boards and coasters. Wipe up any acidic spills immediately. We recommend high-grade professional sealants for all our marble installs in Colorado.
